Getting Stronger! non-running days!

woo hoo!!!!!!!!!

Today is a good day! Especially for Daughter #1 šŸ™‚

This was our very first ever experience-and poor daughter #1, she was too nervous and excited she couldn’t get much sleep for the past two nights.

It was a 1 mile run around the middle school ground and coming back to the field.

She is in 3rd grade and out of the 44 girls in that group, she finished #17, her split was 1 mile @ 8:05.

It was such a nerve wrecking morning for me, checking my phone constantly to see how she did, how the boys did, and how the 4th and 5th graders did.

Mr. B did an amazing job of taking photos AND video footage of this.

Overall, it was a very close one with the school that’s just up the hill.  It was with 4 other elementary schools (5 schools in the community, and met at the middle school for this meet), and our school came in #1 šŸ™‚

I know that the coach and the kids were more than happy with the result.  Daughter #1 told me their school would always place #1 so I guess it was a little bit of a pressure.

Daughter #1 told me: now, I have a goal.

Next year, as a 4th grader, she would definitely like to do better at the trial and join the team.  Not only that, she wants to be the top 5 finisher so she can get the ribbon!

So far, these were the top 5 results for 3rd grade girls:

7:03,7:04,7:10,7:16, 7:20

And the fourth grade girls:

So basically she will be training for next year and she will aim to be in the 6-7 min mile range! That’s a whole lot of difference from her 8:05 but she wants to try.

We will be rooting for her!

I am just happy that she loved it and she truly enjoyed her time today.

Mr. Harvey was happy about the results too šŸ™‚
